Brazilian beat for heart, feet

IF you enjoy songs like ‘The Girl from Ipanema’, you’ll really love ‘Serafina’, the latest project of Picnic Point songstress Anna Salleh.
Enjoying a long love affair with Brazilian music after spending time in Rio de Janeiro, Anna has become one of Sydney’s finest performers of Bossa Nova and other Brazilian styles – singing in both Portuguese and English.

Wooing audiences with her vocal artistry and natural feel, Anna performs both nationally and internationally, and has achieved great acclaim for her show ‘Gorgeous Songs from Brazil & Beyond’, which has featured some of Australia’s best jazz and world musicians.
Joining Anna in ‘Serafina’ are the incredibly talented Loretta Palmeiro on saxophone, clarinet and flute, Gino Pengue on guitars, and Jess Ciampa on percussion.
And what can the audience expect?
“Brazilian beats for your heart and feet,” Anna says.
“From divine ballads that seem to hold the audience in a spell of silence, to joyful sambas that make them want to sing and dance.”
Catch a meal and the show on Sunday, July 4, at Django@Camelot in Marrickville and Friday, August 13, at Foundry616 in Ultimo.
