A GUILDFORD man, 33, was charged with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, possessing a prohibited drug, and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance, during a proactive two-day police operation to disrupt and prevent crime across the public transport network.

About 9pm on Saturday, police stopped a Mercedes Benz on Kay Street, Guildford, and while they were speaking with the driver, another man approached the vehicle and told police he was a friend. During a search of the man, police allegedly located an electronic stun device, methylamphetamine and prescription medication.
Operation PTC Disrupt was an intelligence-driven operation targeting violent crimes, knife and weapon offences, and anti-social behaviour on public transport and at transport hubs, last Friday and Saturday.
