Baseball back with fans old and young to greet diamond

AFTER their winter baseball season was cut short due to Covid, summer baseball is finally back with dozens of local players keen to hit the diamond.

East Hills Baseball Club (EHBC) president Jill Archer said training got underway last week at Kelso North Baseball Park with lots of very excited kids (big and small) as well as new and returning players.
“After nearly four months in lockdown, it was so great to be back,” she said.
The season starts on Friday, November 5, 6-7pm, with the Lil Sluggers (three to five years) taking to the diamond.
A great introduction to TBall, Lil Sluggers is lots of fun for young children with no experience or equipment necessary and everyone’s invited to give it a go.
Active Kids vouchers can be used and the program runs for seven weeks featuring full Covid-safe protocols in place.
The first round of juniors, aged three to 15, will be held on Saturday, November 6, with EHBC’s three T Ball, three Zooka and pitch ball teams all competing in various divisions in the Cronulla Sutherland Junior Baseball Association competition.
Three senior teams take to the diamond and will be playing in the Cronulla Sutherland Minor League Competition which starts on Sunday, November 7.
“Everyone is thrilled to be back playing and looking forward to another successful season,” Archer said.
