Attacked in break-in

A MAN was attacked during a home invasion in Roselands last Wednesday night.
Just before midnight, the 46-year-old man woke to find two men inside his Springfield Avenue home. The men, who were dressed in dark clothing and armed with a crowbar, assaulted him with a weapon while demanding cash.
He suffered a suspected fractured hand, cuts and bruising during the assault before the men ransacked his home and fled the scene. He was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Campsie detectives are now investigating.
It’s not known at this stage what property, if any, was stolen.

Arrest over shooting, assault
A MAN has been charged after a public place shooting and assault in Punchbowl last November.
Campsie Police were called to a park on Viola Street, Punchbowl, just after 3pm on Friday, November 29, after reports shots had been fired.
Police will allege a 31-year-old man was shot at several times, before he was assaulted, suffering serious injuries to his face and torso.
A 19-year-old man arrested last Friday and charged with discharging a firearm intending to cause grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others.
A search warrant was executed at a house on Sadlier Avenue, Heckenberg, where a number of items were seized.

Found intruder inside house
A GEORGES Hall man arrived home last Monday afternoon to find a 40-year-old man from Revesby inside.
The resident and a witness chased the man who was arrested shortly after by Bankstown Police, allegedly in possession of a screwdriver, gloves and other house breaking implements.
He was charged with break and enter dwelling-house etc with intent and possess housebreaking implements.

Kicked in door, assaulted ex
A MAN has been charged after he allegedly assaulted two people at a home in Yagoona.
About 4am on Friday, January 31, the 36-year-old man from Peakhurst went to his former partner’s house at Yagoona, where he kicked down the door of a room in which his former partner and a friend were hiding before assaulting them.
He was charged with contravening prohibition/restriction in AVO, aggravated enter dwelling with intent – knowing people there, destroy or damage property and cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

Spend spree after wallet theft
A MAN who allegedly stole a wallet from Bankstown TAFE and went on a spending spree was arrested after a short police pursuit in Burwood.
On Tuesday, February 4, a 42-year-old man from Dulwich Hill allegedly stole a wallet from Bankstown TAFE and used the person’s identification and credit cards in Bankstown to purchase items.
About 2.45pm the same day, the 42-year-old was involved in a foot pursuit with police in Burwood, upon apprehension he resisted police which resulted in police sustaining minor injuries.
He was refused bail until February 21.
