In March, detectives began an investigation following reports a 40-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted at an apartment at Ultimo.
A 27-year-old man was arrested at a house at Lakemba on Monday morning and charged with aggravated sexual assault – victim with cognitive impairment.
Police allege the man sexually assaulted the woman, who is known to him, while she was unconscious following a medical episode on Wednesday, February 17.
The woman has a medical condition that requires ongoing treatment.
