Aquatic Centre ready for splash

THE new $47 million Ashfield Aquatic Centre was officially opened on Saturday and is set to make a splash – subject to Covid-19 restrictions.
The magnificent new aquatic centre includes a new 50m indoor pool with accessible ramp, outdoor water polo pool with floating floor that can change its depth, opening it up for a wide range of uses, a children’s leisure pool with landscaping and green wall, a two-storey entry building with cafe, change areas, crèche, staff facilities and retail space, gym, sauna, steam and spa.
The centre was opened by Cr Lucille McKenna, Mayor Darcy Byrne, Federal MP for Barton, Linda Burney and Cr Mark Drury.
