Annual Greek Family Night to assist needy

WITH the goal of keeping Greek culture alive through an annual celebration for families, a group of mums with children at Clemton Park Public School, created Eros Charity of the Heart and staged their first event six years ago, raising funds for a worthy cause at the same time.

This year’s Sixth Annual Greek Family Night is at the Emporium Function Centre, Bankstown, next Saturday, October 12, 6.30pm-12.30am, with funds going to the St George School to help with the building of an interactive sensory virtual reality room for students with autism.
One of the mum organisers, Connie Athanasatos said: “The first year we raised funds for Sydney Children’s Hospital, then Bear Cottage, Giant Steps, the Starlight Foundation and last year was for the MS Foundation which turned out to be our most successful year yet as we raised over $30,000.
“This year we are hoping to match that sum as there is a big need at St George School for the sensory room which will do so much for the students in need there.
“Families are invited to come along and enjoy DJ Georgie D, a silent auction, awesome prizes and more plus a three-course, chef selected, Mediterranean dinner which includes beer, wine and soft drink.”
Tickets: $90 for adults and $40 for children aged two to 12, or book for tables of 10 or 12, with corporate sponsor tables also available.
