YMCA wins Zero Barriers Innovation Award

A SPECIFIC gymnastics program for people with disability, has seen Bankstown City YMCA win the Zero Barriers Innovation Award at the Canterbury Bankstown Local Business Awards.

Many businesses from throughout Canterbury Bankstown, enter the awards across a range of categories, including Zero Barriers Innovation, which reflects the growing interest, commitment and support for programs such as this.
All participants have to demonstrate their dedication and effort in improving access and inclusion for people with a disability.
Bankstown City YMCA’s GymAbility program gives people with disability the chance to try gymnastics in a fun and safe environment for all ages and abilities on Thursdays, 5.30–6.30 pm.
Want to compete seriously? You can learn routines for competition at Special Olympic, Paralympic and other gymnastics meets at a state, national and international level.
“This has enabled some of our athletes to represent Australia at the Special Olympics this year in Dubai,” a spokesperson said.
