Celebrating Japanese culture

THE Sydney Cherry Blossom will be celebrating Japan’s rich culinary traditions and cultural exports with the first festival ‘bento box’ created by Japanese food expert, author and television host Adam Liaw (pictured below). Sakeshop Sydney will also be selling cups of Hanamikura Aya sake made from a very rare yeast extracted from the cherry blossom flower. Cumberland residents can collect three free native plants at the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival at the Auburn Botanic Gardens between August 17 and 25.
