Festival back with painting, music, drama, crafts
Addison Road Community Centre Organisation, in conjunction with Inner City Teachers’ Association, Inner West Drama and Drawn to Seeing, will be presenting the festival which is an opportunity for budding artists in public schools across Sydney to develop, design, showcase and display their work in a professional exhibition.
“We’re so excited to be hosting the fifth annual Public Schools Art Festival in our gallery here at the Addison Road Community Centre,” Addison Road Community Centre CEO Rosanna Barbero said.
“It’s such a wonderful opportunity to showcase the creativity and talent of public school students from across the Inner West and beyond, to give them the chance to professionally exhibit their work here at the Centre.
“With public school students from Marrickville and Ashfield, to Burwood, the festival is getting bigger every year.”
The exhibition will showcase sculpture, ceramics, drawing, painting, music and drama made by public school students.
All are welcome to the exhibition’s opening night this Friday, August 9, 5pm-7.30pm, featuring seven primary and high school rock bands, three drama performances, two choirs, speeches, snacks and a sausage sizzle.
The exhibition will be open to the public until Wednesday, August 14, 10am-4pm, each day.
