Playing at Giants Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park, the home side which is sitting at fifth place on the AFL ladder, didn’t have the easy game they expected against their 15th place rivals.
Securing the 12.11 (83) to 12.9 (81) victory, the Giants were led by brilliant performances from Jacob Hopper, Zac Williams, and Toby Greene in the midfield, and the unflappable Nick Haynes in defence.
Hopper managed three goals, while Harry Himmelberg and Jeremy Finlayson kicked two each.
Lachlan Keefe, Brent Daniels, Bobby Hill, Toby Greene and Lachie Whitfield also each found the centre posts.
Next up the Giants will head to Canberra to face Hawthorn in a pearler on Friday night.
