Woman, 73, dies in crash

A WOMAN died in a single-vehicle crash in Rosehill on Sunday.

Emergency services were called about 3.35pm to the intersection of James Ruse Drive and Grand Avenue, Rosehill, following reports a car had crashed into a pole.
The female driver and sole-occupant of the vehicle was declared deceased at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be a 73-year-old.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Arrest two over brawl
POLICE are appealing for information about a brawl in Auburn last month.
About 8.30pm on Tuesday, June 18, police were called to a café on Auburn Road, Auburn following reports of an altercation.
It is alleged that 10-12 men entered the café and become involved in an altercation with another group.
Following a brief fracas, the men fled the premises and headed down Auburn Road by foot towards a nearby carpark.
When police arrived they found four men had sustained various head and facial injuries. All received medical treatment however declined to assist police with their inquiries.
Following investigations, two men were arrested.
A 19-year-old man from Quakers Hill was charged with three counts of affray, use of offensive weapon in company with intent to commit an indictable offence, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and wield knife in a public place.
A 21-year-old man from Hebersham was charged with affray.

Bust eight in drug ring
A HOME at Guilford West was among five searched by police and eight people charged as part of an investigation into the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine and heroin in Sydney’s south west.
Police executed five search warrants at homes in Bass Hill, Fairfield East, Villawood, Guilford West and Canley Heights last Tuesday.
Upon entry at the home in Bass Hill, two of the occupants – a 36-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman – allegedly threatened police with knives.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis (x 2), supply drug, knowingly direct criminal group, owner knowingly expose child to drugs, owner allow use as drug premises, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, assault police and deal with proceeds of crime.
The woman was charged with participate in criminal group, organise drug premises – expose child, organise drug premises, armed with intent to commit indictable offence and possess prohibited weapon without permit.
A second woman, aged 44, was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply drugs (x 2), knowingly direct activities of criminal group, occupier knowingly expose child to drugs and occupier allow us as drug premises.
A 52-year-old man was charged with participate in a criminal group, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and found on drug premises.
A 36-year-old man was charged with found on drug premises.
A 36-year-old from Bass Hill was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply drugs, knowingly direct activities of criminal group, occupier knowingly expose child to drugs and occupier allow use as drug premises.
A 36-year-old woman from Liverpool, was charged with participate in criminal group, supply drug (x 2), supply drug on an ongoing basis and occupier expose child to drugs.
A 44-year-old man from Villawood was charged with supply drug, possess drug, conduct drug premises, possess prohibited pistol, possess ammunition, not keep firearm safe, possess unregistered firearm, possess prohibited weapon and deal with proceeds.
The 15-year-old girl was released pending further inquiries and a child at risk notification has been made.
During the searches, police allegedly seized a loaded 38 calibre firearm, two loaded pen guns, electronic control devices, over 30 mobile phones, over $100,000 cash, a ballistics vest, numerous knives and drugs including heroin and methylamphetamine.
These items will be forensically examined.
