The grants are available for events which may include an official component, music, dancing and entertainment activities, recognition of community or individual achievements and culturally significant refreshments.
Multicultural grants are available for Chinese, Cypriot, Greek, Indian, Italian, Lebanese, Maltese, Nepalese, Portuguese and Vietnamese communities.
The council may provide eligible not-for-profit community organisations with subsidised fees if they would like to hire one of the council’s venues including meeting rooms and town halls.
Applications should also aim to provide community benefits to residents of the Inner West Council area.
Information sessions and one-on-one support sessions are offered by the council to prospective applicants.
Applications must be made via the council’s Smarty Grants website by May 22 at 5pm.
Applicants are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with the council’s plans and strategies while further information regarding the grant objectives, eligibility, assessment criteria and funding conditions, is available in the multicultural grants guidelines.
