Flying high in last match

But Eagles second in club champions

COREY Lowe’s stunning 148 has Auburn well placed in the last match of the season.
Auburn were playing the always dangerous Warringah, with first and third grades at home in Mona Park.
Auburn Eagles’ skipper won the toss and chose to bat on a superb-looking pitch. Warringah’s deadly accuracy kept the scoring cautious but by stumps, the Eagles were still batting with score on 5-270.
Sam Evens was also on his way to a century but got caught for 78.
In second grade, Eagles Captain Marteen Azzimi had a bowling blinder taking 6-51 to have Warringah out for 168.
In reply, the Eagles were 7-139, needing 30 runs to win with three wickets in hand. Zubair Jadoon scored 26, Marteen Azzimi, 29 but Satnam Singh led the batting with a great 50.
Third grade are struggling with Warringah on 7-297 and it will take a massive effort to turn the game around.
The first grade Eagles look certain to take out the Minor Premiership next week and will be the team to beat in the Finals series, but sadly Auburn will have to settle for second in the Club Championship.
A club spokesperson says they are especially proud of the Junior Division where every team has qualified for their respective Finals series, with special congratulations to Col Monro, the Junior Division Director for an amazing job.
