Dogs visit sick, win historic trial

BULLDOGS fans weren’t the only ones smiling after the side’s 30-18 win over Cronulla in last Saturday’s historic trial in Port Moresby.

Staff and patients at Port Moresby General Hospital, where Dr Ian Nicholson and Open Heart International have provided surgeries to disadvantaged communities, also had reason to smile after a surprise visit from Bulldogs coach Dean Pay, general manager Andrew Hill, Steve Price and Josh Jackson.
Hill said it was a wonderful experience going to the hospital and seeing all the great work being done.
“A massive thank you to all the doctors and nurses led by Ian Nicholson, who spend time coming over and carrying out heart surgery, as well as training local medical staff to carry on the great work when they aren’t there,” he said.
“When we were asked to come and visit the staff and patients, we immediately said yes and it has been very humbling to be here and see the effort that goes on to help the save lives of these young children.”
