Clubs and pubs to rock

CLUBS and pubs are going all out to ensure this Sunday’s Australia Day (January 26) celebration is a memorable one for families and their friends.
Starting with a delicious Aussie classic lunch or dinner at Greenfield Station Bistro comprising Pumpkin Seed Crumbed Victorian Lamb Cutlets served with mash, jus and vegetables or salad for $24, Bankstown Sports will offer entertainment in the Rainforest Lounge with a DJ from 3-7pm and the Totally Aussie 80s bands – live on large LED screens – from 7.30-11.30pm.
Revesby Workers’ Club will also feature Aussie food specials in the Central Eatery including Egg and Bacon Pizza for $16.50 (members) and in Firestone Kitchen, an Aussie Burger (burger, bacon, pineapple, melted cheese, cos lettuce, tomato and beetroot with aioli) and Beer for $22.
There will be free face painting and balloon bending in the Central Eatery, 1-4pm, Aussie Trivia in the Presidents Lounge, 2-4pm, with $500 in prizes to be won and an Aussie-inspired $5,000 Mega Raffle with gourmet barbecue trays, garden care products, barbecues and an esky or two! Tickets on sale from 4pm; raffle from 6pm, with six bonus major prizes to be won. Spend $20 and receive another $20 worth for free plus receive a raffle bonus entry ticket for a chance to win in the bonus draw.
Canterbury League Club is offering an Aussie Day feast across the long weekend with classics such as Guinness & Beef Pie, Green & Gold Prawn Salad, Lamb & Rosemary Sausages and Grilled Half Lobster.
You can bring the kids along for an interactive fun experience at the Wildlife Display daily from 11.30am-2.30pm. Take photos with a baby crocodile, snakes, lizards, turtles and frogs.
Campsie RSL is hosting an Australia Day concert with Belinda Adams, Neil Hanson & The Joseph Macri Band on Sunday, 2-3pm, with tickets $5.
Chester Hill RSL’s Australia Day concert features riveting band Altitude on Sunday, 2-4pm.
Club Mt Lewis is showcasing festivities including live music and activities, games and a barbecue kicking off from 1pm on Sunday.
The Mill Hotel is celebrating Australia Day with a free Shannon Noll performance from 3pm and DJs to follow until late. Doors open early with breakfast, 9-11am, then great Aussie lunch and dinner classics and live music from noon.
Padstow Park Hotel is offering an all day (Australia Day) Burger and Beer deal for just $15.
Panania Diggers is featuring an Australia Day weekend of live music, kids entertainment, barbecues on the green, raffles and delicious bistro and beer specials.
Club Condell Park (Bankstown Trotting Club) is featuring some fantastic Eldridge bistro specials including bucket of prawns, $11, premium Sydney rock oysters, $11 for a half dozen, $21 for a dozen and The Aussie Outback feast (lamb chop, steak, sausage, bacon, chips and salad) for $28.
