Knife threat during robbery
TWO men from Greenacre allegedly threatened a man with a knife before robbing him.
At 9am on Saturday, January 4, two 18-year-old men, allegedly produced a knife and demanded a man’s wallet at Cope Street, Redfern. The pair then allegedly approached a second person demanding his wallet. They were both arrested at homes in Greenacre before being charged with armed with intent to rob with offensive weapon and assault with intent to rob armed with offensive weapon.
Both were denied bail to reappear in court on March 11.


Woman arrested for fire
A WOMAN has been charged with lighting a fire at a hotel in Bass Hill last Saturday.
Just before 8.30am, emergency services were called to a hotel on the Hume Highway, Bass Hill, following reports of a fire. The fire destroyed one of the units but was extinguished before spreading further. No one was injured.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Polding Street, Fairfield, the next day and charged with damaging property by fire.
