Fundraiser to help schools

Officeworks to match all funds raised in Friday’s bushfire appeal

WITH Greenacre Officeworks one of the country’s top fundraisers in the Back to School initiative supporting the Smith Family’s Learn for Life Appeal, its customers – along with those from Punchbowl Officeworks – are being advised of a national fundraising day to help schools impacted by bushfires, this Friday, January 24.
With Officeworks matching the total funds raised across its 167 stores, the retailer is also working with business groups in bushfire regions to identify customers that have been impacted so it can provide help with extended credit terms or other financial support.
Officeworks Acting Managing Director Michael Howard said: “We know it’s an incredibly challenging time for our team members and customers in parts of Australia that have been devastated by the bushfires.
“Making meaningful contributions to the communities where we live and work is something we’re committed to, so we’re really proud of our store teams who have been quick to act and support those that need it the most.”
Officeworks has also set up workplace giving to allow its nearly 8,000 team members to donate to The Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, directly from their pay.
Additionally, Officeworks will support team members with paid leave if they are a part of the volunteer services fighting the bushfires.
“Our thoughts go out to all our team members, customers, supplier partners and their families and friends impacted by the fires,” Mr Howard added.
Customers can also get involved with the Back to School initiative by purchasing $2, $5, $10 or $20 donation cards in-store or donating online until mid-February.
