All Eagles zoom to fantastic victories

THE Auburn Eagles continued their excellent start to the cricket calendar with wins in all grades in the Sydney Shires competition.

First to fourth grades had a good chance of outright wins but Lindfield held out.
Hunting for an outright win, Eagles’ first grade started the day with three Lindfield wickets in the bag courtesy of Raj ‘Rocky’ Lamba who ended up with 5-24.
Of all the wickets to fall, there were 3 LBWs and 6 bowled with only one catch in the outfield. Waleed Jalil also got 3-28 but it was Corey Lowe’s great 103 which set up the first innings win.
Reigning Minor Premiers Auburn Eagles second grade side bowled Lindfield out for 157 after scoring 208 last week to secure first innings points.
After that massive 8(dec)-388 of last week, Auburn’s third grade Eagles bowled Lindfield out for 163.
They enforced the follow-on and with Lindfield 3-124 late in the afternoon, it was clear that no further result was available.
In the first innings, Mark Long 3-23 and Mo Dewji 3-34 did the damage. In the second innings, only Fletcher Butterfield penetrated with 2-20.
The fourth grade Eagles sent Lindfield packing for a meagre 68.
Amir Ajineh did the real damage with 5-16. In reply Auburn got the first innings points with 4-102. Chis Zammit scored 47, Parin Sheth, 42 and Jayesh Kalra, 23.
The fifth grade Eagles pulled off a great win when they bowled Epping for 87 then got the points 3-88.
Steve Grasion took 3-21 but stunning fielding did the real damage with two run outs and restricted run rate.
