Police said about 6.45pm, two teens entered a supermarket on Rookwood Road, while a third teen stood watch at the entrance. It’s alleged the two teens, dressed in hooded jumpers and balaclavas, walked behind the counter and allegedly threatened the 43-year-old male staff member with knives, produced a bag and demanded cash and cigarettes.
The staff member managed to grab one of the knives, before the three teens fled on foot, and police were notified.
After a search of the area, the three 16-year-olds were located and property from the shop recovered.
The teens were charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon. The third teen was also charged with breach of bail.
Raid reveals five guns, ammo
FIVE illegal firearms, including two semi-automatic rifles, were allegedly seized by Strike Force Raptor officers during a search of a home in Punchbowl last Friday afternoon.
As part of ongoing targeting of the activities of criminal networks operating in NSW, officers from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, executed a search warrant at the home about 2.40pm.
During the search, police allegedly seized a Leader Dynamics T2 MK5 semi-automatic assault rifle with two loaded magazines, a Colt M4 Custom Tactical semi-automatic rifle with two loaded magazines, a revolver, two loaded Glock 23 pistols, ammunition, and various other items.
The firearms will undergo extensive forensic and ballistic examination.
A 69-year-old man was arrested at the home and charged with possessing more than three unregistered firearms, two counts of possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, two counts of possessing unregistered prohibited firearm, two counts of not keeping prohibited firearm safely, three counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol, three counts of not keeping pistol safely, possessing a defaced firearm, and possessing ammunition without holding a licence.
Investigations are continuing.
Charged after drugs, cash find
POLICE searched a home on Henry Lawson Drive East Hills last Wednesday and allegedly located a large amount of green vegetable matter believed to be cannabis and cash. A 53-year-old male from East Hills was charged with recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime and supplying a prohibited drug.
Had knife, drugs, cash in car
A MAN, 21, from Punchbowl has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug, goods in custody, knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, custody of a knife and possessing a prohibited drug. Police alleged they stopped the man while he was driving along De Witt St, Bankstown, last Monday afternoon and located an amount of green vegetable matter, cash and a knife.

CANNABIS and cash were allegedly located by police executing a search warrant at an address in Belar Avenue, Villawood, last Tuesday. A 58-year-old man from Villawood has been charged with supply a prohibited drug, knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing a prohibited drug.
