Replica gun threat charge

TWO men have been charged after tradesmen were allegedly threatened with a replica firearm outside a building site in Marrickville last Thursday.

Just before 11.30am, police were called to Garners Avenue, Marrickville, following reports of a man armed with a firearm.
Police will allege the man set-up a replica .50 calibre Barrett sniper rifle in the front yard and aimed it at the tradesmen outside the building site and threatened them due to the level of noise.
The man was approached by tradesmen, who removed the firearm from him until police arrived.
The replica firearm was seized for examination.
A man, 27, was charged with using an unauthorised prohibited firearm and a man, 26, was charged with possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm.

Stolen goods, drug
A MAN has been charged over an alleged aggravated break and enter in Earlwood last week.
Police have been told about 10.45pm on Monday, November 11, five unknown men forced entry into a house on Keith Street, Earlwood, and stole a BMW X5, documents, wallets and cash. No one was home at the time.
Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a house on Wattle Grove Drive, Wattle Grove, about 12pm on Tuesday and a 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized a BMW X5, cash, firearm parts, ammunition, handcuffs, a baton and prohibited drugs believed to be cocaine and testosterone.
The man was charged with goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen, possessing a prohibited drug and possessing prescribed restricted substance (x2).
He was also charged with two outstanding warrants for robbery, traffic and assault related offences.
Woman fled in pursuit
A 20-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged after an alleged police pursuit last Thursday night.
About 11.15pm, police were patrolling Marrickville Road, Marrickville, when a Kia Rio was seen to allegedly disobey a red traffic light at the intersection of Illawarra Road.
Police said they attempted to stop the Kia; however, it failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. They followed the vehicle to John Street, Petersham – a no through road – and blocked the street, preventing the Kia from leaving.
The driver, a 20-year-old woman and a male passenger were removed from the vehicle and arrested. The man was later released.
Following a search of the vehicle, police allegedly found prescription drugs inside.
The woman was charged with proceeding through red traffic light, police pursuit – not stopping – driving dangerously, driving with a suspended licence, and possessing a prohibited drug.
