Student Biryani Auburn and Surry Hills both have all the fabulous food they’ve become famous for, including chicken or lamb biryani, their signature rice dish prepared with a special combination of spices.
Also on the menu are dishes like chicken karahi, a spicy and succulent curry dish; haleem chicken or beef, a thick lentil and meat stew flavoured with herbs and spices; and beef nehari, a slow-cooked stew of bone marrow and beef.
Vegetarians also have plenty of tasty choices such as Kardhi pakora, chickpea balls and flower cooked with yogurt and special spices, or vegetable biryani made with fresh mixed vegetables and basmati rice cooked with traditional hot spices, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and yogurt in Pakistani style.
Student Biryani also offers a tempting range of side dishes, naan breads and desserts, as well as refreshing plain, strawberry or mango lassi drinks.
In Auburn, just a couple of doors away, the new Cafe Student also offers sumptuous coffee as well as kashmiri and doodh pattii tea, and traditional paratha rolls with a range of delicious fillings including mayo garlic and chantni.
Their menu also includes aloo, chicken, cheese, paneer and anda stuffed paratha, as well as flavoursome garlic mayo, masala or cheesy fries.
The cafe also serves tasty anday wala bun kababs, chana or samosa chaat, vegetable samosa and a pakora box, and leave some room for sweets with a choice of traditional desserts including kheer, gajar halwa, zarda, jalebi, gulab jaman and shahi khulfi.
Student Biryani Auburn is open Monday to Friday, 11am-11pm, and on weekends for breakfast from 9am to 11pm, while Student Biryani Surry Hills is open at Unit 2, 462-464 Cleveland Street from Tuesday to Sunday, 12pm to 11pm.
Located at 45 Auburn Road, Cafe Student is open 11am to 11pm seven days a week.
