Charged over grabbing child

A WOMAN has been charged after allegedly leading a two-year-old child away from a cafe in a shopping centre at Bankstown.
Last Wednesday about 12.45pm, a woman was with her son at a café inside the shopping precinct, when a woman approached her son, allegedly grabbed hold of his hand and led him away.
Police said the child’s mother chased after the woman and grabbed hold of her son but the woman fled.
About 10.30am the following day, police attended the shopping centre and arrested a 34-year-old woman. She was charged with common assault and trespass.

Assaulted officers after capture
A POLICE officer was injured during an arrest in Chester Hill last Thursday.
About 2am, Bankstown Police were called to a property in Chester Hill, following reports a 25-year-old woman was being held against her will.
On arrival, a 29-year-old man allegedly charged at officers and struggled as they tried to arrest him.
It will be alleged a male constable suffered a deep cut to his right forearm when he was pushed into a porcelain sink, causing it to break.
The 29-year-old man was then pursued on foot by the injured officer and a female senior constable and after a short struggle, he was arrested.
He was charged with wounding a police officer executing duty, reckless as to actual bodily harm, assaulting a police officer in execution of duty, causing actual bodily harm, two counts of resisting officer in execution of duty, taking a person intend commit serious indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and intentionally choke person without consent.
The constable was taken to hospital in a stable condition for surgery.

Resisted officer after damage
A MAN, 34, from Padstow has been charged with destroying or damaging property and resisting or hindering a police officer in the execution of duty. He allegedly caused an extensive amount of damage to the property in which he resides last Wednesday.

Raid reveals guns, drug, ammo
A MAN arrested in Villawood faces numerous firearms and weapons charges after police allegedly seized four handguns, a tablet press, firearm scopes, and ammunition, two stolen vehicles and a small amount of MDMA from a property in Hill End.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad and Western Region, established Strike Force Mactier to investigate criminal networks in the state’s Central West.
As part of their joint inquiries, they executed a search warrant at a property at Hill End, about 70km north of Bathurst, on September 25-26.
Strike force investigators also allegedly seized large machinery and earth moving equipment, believed to be stolen or the proceeds of crime, with an estimated value of more than $500,000.
Organised Crime Squad detectives arrested a 49-year-old man following a vehicle stop on Biloela Street, Villawood, last Wednesday morning. He was charged with 14 offences, including possessing an unauthorised pistol (x4), not keeping firearm safely-pistol (x4), possessing ammunition without holding licence/permit, possessing tablet press or drug encapsulator, possessing or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x3), and possessing more than three unregistered firearms.
