Daring Dogs sink whales

IT is turning out to be a stellar season for the Bankstown Sports Bulldogs who cruised to victory over the Mosman Whales at Memorial last week.

In a tribute to the overall strength of cricket in Bankstown, the club is making a determined effort to capture the prestigious Club Championship.
With the success of the new ground at Kelso, the Bulldogs have gone from strength to strength and have received plenty of plaudits for their shining light, the magnificent Bankstown Memorial Oval.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs sunk the Mosman Whales with some spirited batting while chasing 258.
Bankstown secured the points finishing on 7-260 in the 76th over which was spearheaded by another excellent innings from the ever-reliable Mitch Brown.
The classy all-rounder beached the Whales with a match winning 82, rattling the pickets 10 times and thwarting all attempts by the seasiders to remove him.
Brown guided the Bulldogs into calmer waters weathering the storm and kept the home side very much in the game.
Nathan McAndrew again showed his all-round prowess with a masterly 35 and is in tip top form.
Ben Taylor added 17 to complete he run spree.
Earlier Mark Stoneman was totally in charge with a majestic 57.
Next game is a one day format match versus the Campbelltown Ghosts at Raby.
It will be decidedly intense as former Bulldog Jarred Burke is skipper of the home side.
