Second American in Sky Blues line-up

WESTFIELD W-League Champions Sydney FC have signed on one of the last season’s most prolific strikers.

American forward Veronica Latsko will join on loan from the Houston Dash for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 season and joins fellow Dash player Sofia Huerta in a strong Sky Blues line-up.
Latsko finished the Westfield W-League 2018/19 season as the competition’s joint second top scorer on nine goals, alongside Sydney FC’s own Caitlin Foord and Natasha Dowie from Melbourne Victory.
Her goals represented more than half of Adelaide United’s total for last season and included two against the Sky Blues in a 5-2 win for Ante Juric’s team at Cromer Park.
Latsko is looking forward to representing the reigning champions this season.
“I’m very excited about this upcoming season and helping this team win more trophies,” the 23-year old said.
“Sydney FC were deserving champions last season and we have another fantastic squad this year.
“I know many of the girls from last season and have spent the last NWSL season in the company of Sofia, who only has good things to say about the club and the culture within the squad.
“It will be a huge challenge to go back to back but I can’t wait to get started and get the season underway.”
Head Coach Ante Juric is extremely happy to secure a player with such proven W-League quality.
“Veronica was magnificent last season in the W-League and was one of the stand out players,” he said.
“To be able to add her to our strong and experienced squad is very exciting for us and we are looking forward to her lighting up the W-League with her goals again.”
