Kings’ season is off to besta start

WINNING at home and across the ditch the Sydney Kings’ season is off to the best possible start.

In a 96-91 victory at Qudos Bank Arena on Friday night reigning MVP Andrew Bogut demonstrated why he is one of the best players in the league with a masterful 11 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five blocks.
Casper Ware led the scoring with 27 points and five assists despite going zero of eight from the three-point line and 8 of 24 overall.
Brad Newley also made his first four shots and was on a mission right from tip-off, going seven of 11 from the field for 17 points and four rebounds.
Also showing tremendous energy at both ends of the floor, Jae’Sean Tate made 14 points and six rebounds and making some huge plays down the stretch, and Didi Louzada put in a solid performance producing eight points.
Travelling to Spark Arena on Sunday, the Kings put in another blinder to win 76-66 and claim their fourth straight win to cement their position at the top of the NBL ladder.
The home team made the Kings work for every point, racing out to a 58-50 lead with 3.27 left in the third quarter after a phase where the lead changed hands multiple times.
Bogut put in another another dominant performance, recording 13 points and 16 rebounds and Tate also continued his impressive start to the season with 15 points and six rebounds.
Ware scored 17 points and Louzada contributed 11 points four rebounds and two steals, one of which helped clinch the game.
The Kings now face a Round Four clash with long-time rivals the Brisbane Bullets at Qudos Bank Arena this Saturday, October 26.
