Inspiring young receive Hollows Humanity Award

TWO Chullora Public School Year 6 students were among 85 students from across NSW, who received a Fred Hollows Humanity Award at the University of Technology last week.

Sabah Dawre and Aaron Kayrooz have been recognised for their compassion, integrity and kindness.
Sabah was nominated by Principal Bahia Almir for her compassionate nature.
“Sabah goes out of her way to assist younger students in the playground and she is understanding towards students from a refugee background,” Bahia said.
Aaron was also nominated by Principal Almir, for his integrity and supportive ways.
“Aaron is a model student who doesn’t shy away from defending other students when they are wronged by their peers,” Bahia said.
The Humanity Award is a national initiative of The Fred Hollows Foundation that acknowledges Year 6 students who follow in Fred’s footsteps by demonstrating humanitarian values towards others.
Founding Director Gabi Hollows says the Award highlights inspirational students making a positive difference in their communities.
“Fred would have been incredibly proud of the contribution these students are making to society and of The Foundation for recognising and encouraging them to help others, no matter how big or small their actions,” Gabi said.
“To all of this year’s Humanity Award recipients, I offer my warmest congratulations and my heartfelt thanks.”
