Volunteers to clean up creek
RESIDENTS from Newington and Wentworth Point will once again join forces with the Sydney Olympic Park Authority for a monthly cleanup of Haslams Creek this Sunday, October 20, from 8am to 10am. The site is a coastal saltmarsh, which is listed as an endangered ecological community in NSW, and a park ranger supervises the clean up with numbers limited to 20 participants. Improve life with mindfulness
LEARN the art of being fully present, including techniques to reduce stress and anxiety, with a Mindfulness Workshop at Auburn Library on Tuesday, October 22, at 11am. Presented by Neami National, a not-for-profit organisation providing services to improve mental health and wellbeing in local communities, the morning of mindfulness and mediation for adults is free, however bookings are essential. Stadium submissions sought
SUBMISSIONS on the proposed $810 million redevelopment of Stadium Australia, also known as ANZ Stadium, at Sydney Olympic Park, close on Wednesday, October 23. The proposal includes reconfiguring the playing field from an oval to a rectangular shape; reducing ground capacity from 83,500 to 70,000; and replacing the northern and southern roof sections and extending the existing eastern and western roof sections.
