Last week to enjoy ‘Matahari’ as well as ‘Tomorrow’s Canvas’ at Peacock

THIS is your last week to catch the ‘Matahari (Eye of the Day)’ and ‘Tomorrow’s Canvas’ exhibitions at the Peacock Gallery in Auburn.

On show in Gallery One, ‘Matahari’ is artist Kalanjay Dhir’s second solo exhibition and invokes past cross-cultural practices of solar worship and speculates on how to improve interfaces with our bodies, the material world and one another. Working out of Parramatta Artists’ Studios, he also hosts the Wednesday Sunset show on FBi Radio alongside DJ Atro.
‘Tomorrow’s Canvas’, in Gallery Two, showcases works produced by young Western Sydney developing artists in collaboration with Parramatta Artists’ Studios and Information Cultural Exchange (ICE) artist mentors Emma Fielden, Kalanjay Dhir, Del Lumanta and Remesh Mario Nithiyendren during a six-month collaboration.
Admission to both exhibitions is free, and the Gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
The Peacock Gallery and Auburn Arts Studio is located in Auburn Botanic Gardens on the corner of Chiswick and Chisholm Roads in Auburn.
