Vow to match donations to aid homeless

FOR 24 hours, any donation made to RSPCA NSW will be doubled in an effort to find loving homes for as many neglected, homeless and abused animals as possible.

RSPCA’s Give to Get Them Home appeal will see donations made on Thursday, October 3, matched by corporate and individual leadership supporters.
A spokesperson said it’s an incredible one-day opportunity for animal lovers to have a large-scale impact on the 123,000 animals the shelters care for each year.
RSPCA NSW CEO Steve Coleman says the appeal means every supporter will have the opportunity to make their contribution work harder for animals in need of care and protection.
“Last year the RSPCA received over 71,346 reports of animal cruelty nationally,” Mr Coleman said.
“Give to Get Them Home empowers the public to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable animals.
“RSPCA NSW relies on the generosity of our supporters to continue to help desperate animals when they need us the most.
“If you’ve ever thought about donating to the RSPCA – now’s the time to do it.”
On average it costs the RSPCA $1,000 to rescue, care for and find an animal a home.
Money raised will go directly to help homeless, neglected and abused animals in the community and support RSPCA NSW’s animal welfare advocacy and education work.
Participants can donate online at charidy/rspcansw or 9782 4400.
