Seize guns and drugs

A MAN has been charged after firearms, weapons, drugs and cash were allegedly seized during a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search of a home in Villawood.

As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad, stopped a vehicle on Proctor Parade, Villawood, last Friday morning and served an FPO on the 34-year-old male driver.
Shortly after, detectives, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, conducted an FPO search at a home on Alcoomie Street, Villawood.
During the search, officers allegedly seized a replica pistol, a shotgun, extendable baton, several knives, OC spray, $6,500 cash and a large quantity of steroids.
The 34-year-old Villawood man was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, not keeping a firearm safely-prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority, two counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without permit, and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.


Had goods in custody, drugs
POLICE responding to calls about a man attempting to break into houses in Doyle Road, Revesby, early last Wednesday morning, arrested a 30-year-old after a short search of the area.
The Revesby man was charged with goods in custody and possessing prohibited drugs.

Building site brawl charges
A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an alleged dispute at a construction site at Rose Street, Yagoona.
It is alleged the dispute occurred between a council investigator, in the course of his work, and a 45-year-old male from Revesby Heights.
Police said the matter escalated, despite interventions by witnesses on site, and a physical altercation ensued.

Man broke into parked cars
A 19-year-old man from Birrong has been charged with entering a vehicle or boat without consent of owner.
About 3.30am on Sunday, September 7, the man was allegedly breaking into parked cars within the car park on North Terrace, Bankstown. Police said when they attended, the male was breaking into a parked taxi.
