Dining Out

Huge portions, low cost, delicious fare

ONLY re-launching a few months ago after his restaurant was closed due to the building’s renovation, it hasn’t taken long for Cheeky Baba owner Nick Haddad to establish a loyal following.

“All of the food here is beautiful but everyone goes mad for our fresh croissants which are baked to order and you can have them with whatever you like – cheese and olives, cheese and tomato, peanut butter, nutella, chocolate or even vegemite, just let us know and we’ll include before we bake it,” Nick said, adding that customers have been coming all the way from Wollongong and the Northern Beaches just for the croissants.
Open seven days a week from 8.30am till late and all halal, Cheeky Baba features all-day international breakfasts and Lebanese cuisine for lunch and dinner.
With all meals offering great value for money, there are delicious waffles and pancakes and the very popular Big Breakfast for $20 which includes three eggs, toast, sausage, beef rashers, hash brown, tomato, spinach and smashed avocado.

Nick says he also offers meal deals.
“For example, you can feed six people with the $65 deal which includes four kofta skewers, four chicken breast skewers, three lamb skewers plus large plates of babaganoush, hummus, tabouli, garlic and pickles,” he explained.
With piping hot coffee all day as well as fruit cocktails, fresh juices and milkshakes, there is also a selection of desserts made fresh daily and wonderful cakes.
“Our servings our huge, our prices are low and our food is delicious,” Nick said.
“The atmosphere is also very comfortable and laid back; customers come in and enjoy and meal and then can sit around relaxing for four or five hours if they want.
“The restaurant seats up to 300 and there is also a private function room seating up to 130 as well as a private Shisha section.”
