Spring clean home and get rid of waste for free

GET a start on your spring cleaning by disposing of unwanted chemicals for free.

The Household Chemical CleanOut will be held this Saturday, September 21, at Bankstown Paceway, 9am-3.30pm and household items that can be dropped off, include left-over paint, pesticides, gas bottles, pool chemicals, car batteries, fluorescent light globes and tubes and oils.
More than 21,000 kilograms of chemicals were handed in by 574 residents at an event in Campsie in April.
Mayor Khal Asfour says resident can safely drop-off household chemicals at no cost, knowing that they are then safely disposed of and, in some cases, recycled – like old batteries and fluorescent globes for example.
