The school is one of two projects in the Granville electorate set to receive funding under the My Community Project grants.
Principal Bronwyn York said they needed $120,000 to transform the school oval “from dry and dusty with patches of grass to green and inviting for students to play”.
She said staff and liaison officers had worked for hours helping parents register so they could vote for the school’s project online.
“Our students are so excited to have our oval revitalised,” she said.
The Granville electorate’s other successful application came from the Western Sydney Multicultural Family and Youth Association who asked for $197,321 to fit out 14 classrooms and a youth room in Guildford.
Two projects in the Auburn electorate involving children’s play areas, will also receive My Community Project funding.
The Pulse Club Combined Waterfront Community Associations will use $103,093 for an all-weather play area at Wentworth Point, while the Gallipoli Turkish Cultural Foundation will receive $125,620 for a play area on the grounds of Auburn’s Gallipoli Mosque.
