Support country cousin

TO help support country folk, four bowlers from the Picnic Point Bowling Club, led by Bowls Secretary Arthur Gates, headed to Grenfell for three days of fun and bowls.

Grenfell bowler Col Meyers has been visiting Picnic Point and the bowlers decided that they would visit Grenfell in return and support their club.
To assist further, the Picnic Point bowlers donated their wrong bias monies plus donations from the spare change box on the bar, to the Country Women’s Association.
This was topped up by the men’s club to an amount of $500. It was greatly received by the CWA and will be used to assist in the drought relief throughout the Grenfell district.
Local hobby clock maker, Dennis Allen from Milperra, also donated a hand-made mantle clock to the CWA for a future raffle prize.
“Other bowling clubs should consider how they can adopt a small country club, as every little bit helps,” Mr Gates said. “Grenfell bowlers are looking to visit Picnic Point early next year.”
