“In many ways, we’re already a Refugee Welcome Zone,” he said.
“The Cumberland Local Government Area has one of the highest populations of refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia.
“We celebrate our diversity. Signing this declaration just affirms what we already are – a wonderfully inclusive community that fosters a culture of harmony and social inclusion.”
