Teams celebrating seven from eight victories

AN incredible result for players, coaches, fans and volunteers, Earlwood Wanderers FC Teams won seven out of eight Grand Finals at the weekend.

The great run started on Friday, where the EWFC 15/2 Boys had to play eight minutes of extra time under the Golden Goal rule or the game would finish in penalties against Lakemba.
In the previous week, a player from the opposing team had a very serious injury which caused the match to be abandoned and the remainder of the match continued on Friday at Strathfield Park.
The anticipation of the match was tense, on a knife’s edge, but it was all over in less than two minutes, after the 15/2 Boys pressed Lakemba into their penalty box and Panos smashed the ball into the net, winning the Grand Final for 2019, which is part of the CDSFA (Canterbury District Soccer Football Association) competition.
Other Grand Final results from the weekend were: 15/2 win; AA6 win penalties; 35/7 win 2-0; 35/8 win 4-2; 45/3 win 3-0; 16/1A win 1-0; 17/1 lost 3-0; and 21/3 win penalties.
