Woman charged following rescue from sinking car

A WOMAN has been charged for alleged traffic and domestic violence offences after she was pulled from a car in Georges Hall last Sunday.
Just after 2pm, police will allege the 32-year-old woman was involved in a domestic violence incident at a home in George Hall.
It will be alleged the woman left the scene in a vehicle and a short time later a pursuit was initiated.
With the assistance of POLAIR, the vehicle was located in Rabaul Road.
As police arrived, the woman allegedly drove the car off a boat ramp and into the water.
Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command rescued the woman from the sinking car.
About 1.15pm today (Thursday, October 19), a woman was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.
She was charged with common assault (DV), destroy or damage property, negligent driving, police pursuit, drive manner dangerous, motor vehicle exceed speed and drive under the influence.
The woman was refused bail and is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Friday, October 20).
