Changed traffic conditions

Story appeared in: Review | October 5th, 2017

MOTORISTS are advised of changed traffic conditions on Parramatta Road at Auburn for essential maintenance work to be carried out on Chemical Works Bridge between Harbord and Duck streets.
Roads and Maritime Services recently completed stage one work to improve the bridge structure.
The second stage of work will involve installing ventilation grates and one maintenance hole on the northern side of the bridge as well as installing concrete on footpaths to reduce the need for ongoing maintenance.
To minimise the impact to motorists, work will be carried out at night between Tuesday 3 October and Thursday 30 November from 9pm to 5am, weather permitting.
Access to bus stops in the work zone may also be affected. Traffic controllers will direct bus customers to temporary stopping points nearby.
Traffic control and lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
