A WOMAN will appear in court after she allegedly assaulted seven police officers, by biting, scratching and spitting at them, during her arrest for carrying a knife at Campsie Railway Station last night.
About 11pm (Wednesday, September 13), officers from Campsie Local Area Command were called to Belmore Railway Station, following reports that a woman had been threatening commuters with a knife.
Officers approached a 23-year-old woman, who allegedly started swearing at officers.
While she was being arrested, the woman allegedly resisted arrest and bit an officer on the arm, before, scratching, biting and spitting at other officers who were called to assist.
During a search of the woman, officers allegedly located a flick knife in her handbag. The item was seized and will undergo forensic examinations.
Officers exposed to the woman's spit and bites were taken to hospital to undergo blood tests as a precautionary measure.
She was taken to Campsie Police Station where she was later charged with assault police (x7), resist arrest, offensive language, and custody of a knife in a public place.
