IT's even easier to lose time now at the Marrickville Ritz Hotel, thanks to the fabulous line-up of free, live entertainment every Friday and Saturday night.
With local musicians featuring plenty of blues, soul, rock and jazz beside the new cocktail bar, this Friday night sees Newtown-based band the King Street Blues take to the stage.
Band members Demetri on vocals and guitar, and Dominic on Bass, are heralding a golden age of modern guitar blues to their many fans around Sydney.
Channelling the greats like Howling Wolf and Muddy Waters and the guitar work of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan, King Street Blues combine classic blues tunes with soul and R 'n' B songs from yesteryear.
Ritz audiences can sit back and enjoy the free show while they feast on the Chicken & Sons menu and sample the new Spring wine list.
Licensee Luke Anderson says: "The relaxed atmosphere, our very comfy couches and our friendly staff make it very easy to escape from the rest of the world and just enjoy the vibe.
"We love having big groups here. The food from Chicken & Sons is also perfect for sharing, whether it is a group of four, or 20, or more - their food is just amazing with plenty of really tasty options for everyone."
Choose from cold sides like the flowers and pearls with za'atar roasted cauliflower, pearl cous cous, caramelised pear, pickled raisin, goats curd, mint - or try the Aussie hipster made with quinoa, brown rice, kale, chickpea, charred broccolini, coffee granola, avocado and Vegemite dressing.
Also pretty popular are the chicken combos made with either specially seasoned or jerked chicken (barbecue chicken that is brined before being dry-rubbed with Caribbean spices to make the meat juicy and succulent).
For anyone in the mood for a quick takeaway lunch, you can also order to go and grab a quick drink while you wait with convenient roof top parking available via Tuohy Lane.
