Roads to get upgrade

PADSTOW and Panania will receive over $450,000 in funding for major road improvements announced in the Federal Budget last week.
Padstow will receive $260,000 for a single lane roundabout and raised threshold at Sphinx Avenue from Cahors Road to Pyramid Avenue, while $190,000 will be provided for the section of Marco Avenue from Knight Avenue to Anderson Avenue at Panania, to install raised islands with a pedestrian gap, and other works.
Federal MP for Banks, David Coleman says both of these locations have been identified as black spots, and he was pleased that funding has been secured for their upgrade.
"Sphinx Avenue near Cahors road is a busy stretch of road that is awkward to drive, and this roundabout will improve safety," he said.
